2.   Explain whom your IDEA will benefit and how it will benefit them.

3.   Fill out an application (click on the link to the right)

Project Guidelines:

Purpose

The Project’s goal is to inspire and empower Ouray County citizens to contribute to their community in a meaningful manner.

The MCP mission is to promote and support education, the visual and performing arts, sustainable living practices, and environmental awareness in Ouray County, Colorado.

BIG IDEAS Projects must be in alignment with the MCP mission.

Funding

MCP will provide funding for the proposed BIG IDEA that is to be at least doubled by the applicant’s own fundraising efforts. The money raised by the applicant(s) will be used to carry out the proposed project within their expressed timeline.

·      MCP may award up to $500 per application.

Fundraising

The applicant is expected to secure funds for their project that at least match the amount of money requested from MCP. These matching funds can be from a variety of sources such as donations, grants, fundraisers, or any other revenue supporting the proposed project or program.

Requirements

Interested applicants will be required to fill out a Grant Application (click on the link to the right), meet all guidelines, and complete both the fund-matching portion of the project and the project itself within the expressed timeframe.

All youth applicants must have an adult supervisor who can help monitor funds received and raised, as well as monitor the allocation of funds and the overall good faith of the youth participants.

Participants will be held accountable for information provided in the BIG IDEAS Grant Application.

Participants will prepare a budget for the project, be responsible for bookkeeping and include all receipts and invoices.

Participants may be asked to present their project to the MCP board or the community.

Timeline

Participants will submit a project timeline that corresponds to the following guidelines:

·     Matching funds must be secured within the timeline expressed in the application.   MCP funds will then be granted.

·     The project must be completed within the timeline expressed in the application.

·     Applicants will be required to complete a Final Report form (click on the link to the right) upon the project’s completion accompanied by a final budget and any project documentation (such as photographs, video, blog, website, etc.).
